aerial photographs of Iron age Hillfort at Swalcliffe Lea
Green corn is wonderful stuff for showing up archaeology from the air as you can see in these aerial photographs of an Iron age Hillfort at Swalcliffe Lea in Oxfordshire. Its not just the fort that shows up either, look at the bottom left of ba07010.jpg and you can see round circles in the corn which look to me like Iron Age roundhouses. There is a bit of ridge and furrow on the right too by the farmhouse. Reading up on the area after taking the images I note the Romans were here too, but I can't see anything Roman in these shots.
