Exhibition now on in Stockport and for the whole of April 2008

JD Smith , the author of Stockport from above, is holding an exhibition of both old and new aerial photographs of Stockport used in the book. Mr Smith will be onhand throughout the exhibition to personaly sign copies and I will be doing likewise at weekends when not flying. Entry to the exhibition is free and it is taking place on Great Portwood Street on the oposite side of the road from Argos and Borders.

Update; I have recently been photographing for a book, "Stockport from the air" and have taken hundreds of aerial photographs of Stockport. I believe this is the largest ever oblique aerial photographic survey of the town . The gallery now covers Edgley, Disley, High Lane, Lyme Hall, Marple, Marple Bridge, Lyme Park, Cheadle, Cheadle Hulme and Bramhall.

Resolution If you want to see how good the latest pictures are have a look at this 100% extract from shot M6778. I did that at 1500 feet and doing 100mph. You can see the time on the town hall clock, quarter past eleven. Newer images are even higher resolution. Summer 2008 onwards will be 21 megapixel, If that's not high enough resolution for you I will give up and go and become a plumber or something!
