This photograph shows the city walls with the gatehouse known as " Monk Bar ". Built in the 14th Century it was a heavily fortified gatehouse and is remarkably preserved today, with even the Portcullis surviving. For more information on the Monk Bar click here. In the center of the picture on the left side of the city wall is the Medieval Merchants guild known as The Merchant Taylor's Hall which was built in the 14th century.
