This image shows the Botanical Gardens which are part of the Yorkshire Museum. The timbered building in the bottom right is the Hospitium a 14th Century guesthouse for St Mary's Abbey which can also be seen clearly in this shot. Just to the right of the Abbey and in the bottom of the picture is St Mary's Lodge which was built around 1470 . The Roman Multiangular tower shows clearly in the center of the photograph. This is the best preserved part of the Roman city although only the bottom few meters is Roman as it was added to and strengthened in latter years. In the center of the park is the Yorkshire museum which was opened in 1830. They have a website which you can visit here. In the photograph you can see lots of white spots all over the grass which looks like dust on the negative, however this photographer can assure you the negative is clean and this is actually people sat on the grass and picnicking on a beautifully summers day! Below I have zoomed in on the negative to show you;
