London Victoria station was opened in 1860 as a terminus for both the London Brighton and South Coast Railway (LB&SCR) and the London Chatham and Dover Railway (LC&DR). The LB&SCR rebuilt thier side of the station in 1908 to a design by Charles Langbridge. The LC&DR rebuilt the other side of the station 1899 to 1906.The two stations were united into a single station following the merger of the respective railways to form the Southern Railway (SR) in 1923.
