aerial photograph showing the site of Shakespeare's house New Place in Stratford-upon-Avon Warwickshire England UK. New Place is where Shakespeare lived until his death in 1616. He bought the house for 60 pounds in 1597. The original house was knocked down in 1759 but the site is preserved along with a museum at Nash's House next door. Nash's House was built in 1600 and was owned by Thomas Nash who married William Shakespeare's granddaughter.
