aerial photograph of Kidderminster Town railway station on the the Severn Valley Railway. Kidderminster station was opened in 1852 by the Oxford, Worcester and Wolverhampton Railway which later became part of the the Great Western Railway (GWR). The Severn Valley Line closed in 1982 but was taken over for preservation as a heritage railway running steam services. The SVR uses the former goods yard in the upper left of the image, while in the upper right is Kidderminster railway station on the Birmingham to Worcester via Kidderminster Line which serves regular trains to Birmingham and Worcester. In the foreground is the SVR Kidderminster Carriage Shed which is used for carriage storage and maintenance .
