Although the full length has not survived the pier has recently undergone major lottery funded restoration to make it once again a top tourist attraction in the resort.The Great Yarmouth Winter Gardens were originally constructed in 1878 in Torquay and then moved to Great Yarmouth in 1904. The building is the last surviving seaside Victorian cast iron and glass winter garden in the England and was the third largest when it was built. The building is Grade II listed and is currently closed awaiting renovation.
