aerial photograph of St Mary's Church Bury St Edmunds Suffolk England UK. St Mary's Church was originally part of Bury St Edmunds Abbey and survived the dissolution of 1539. The Church was first built in the 12th century with rebuilding work in the 13th, 14th and 16th centuries. Nothing remains of the original Norman Church, however the 13th century Chancel survives. The tower dates from the 14th century. Today the building is Grade I listed.
