aerial photograph of Alderley Park ,Alderley Edge , Cheshire, formerly Astra Zeneca. The site was originally a house called Alderley Park which was built in 1818 and burnt down in 1931. ICI bought the remains of the house in 1950 and converted it into a science park. In 2008 ICI was taken over by AkzoNobel and in 2013 they pulled most of their operations out of Alderley Park. Since then the park has been converted to a multi occupancy Science Park centered on bio and life sciences. By 2017 there were over 150 companies at the site.
