aerial photograph of Rough Tor prehistoric settlement, Bodmin Moor Cornwall England UK. The area was excavated by Time Team Series14, Episode 13 and they found the linear feature in the top left to be a long Cairn dating from the Neolithic period. The stone rows were pierced by tanks during the second world war when the whole area was used as a military training ground. The hut circles produced dating evidence from the Neolithic period and the bronze age and even a piece of Roman glass was found. At some point , the settlement was abandoned probably due to climate change or environmental change as the area changed from a fertile wooded area to the cold wet moor we see today.
