Castle Hill Folkestone from the air

aerial photograph of a Motte & Bailey medieval Castle at Castle Hill, Folkestone known as Caesar's Camp. Despite the name, the structure is not Roman but a Medieval ringwork with bailey which also incorporates a bowl barrow. The Castle was constructed some time following the Norman Conquest in the 11th century and is today a scheduled monument. The location looks out over Folkestone and the Channel Tunnel with the Ringwork clearly visibly for traffic passing along the A20.
