aerial photograph of the Snibston Discovery Museum, Coalville Leicestershire UK. The Snibston Discovery Museum was a museum on the site of the Snibston Colliery which closed in 1985. The museum included parts of Snibston Colliery railway built in 1833-36 by Robert Stephenson. The museum was run by Leicestershire County Council who closed it in 2015 and demolished the museum building in 2016. Fortunately the Snibston Colliery Headstocks are listed structures and remain intact.
