aerial photograph of crop marks near Holbeach St Johns Lincolnshire UK. While flying over here my eye was caught by this field full of crop marks, most looking straight and man made. ts difficult to see what the archaeology is , as the lines do not form classic street or dwelling patters. Some will clearly be field boundaries and field drains, however there are too many for that to account for all of them so it could well be a settlement. Its interesting to note how the different crops show up or dont show the archeology. The crop marks only show in one particular crop, despite almost certainly extending under the adjacent fields which show very littel evidence of crop marks.
