aerial Photograph of The Sheppey Crossing Kent UK. The Sheppey Crossing was opened in 2006 and links the Isle of Sheppey to the rest of Kent. It is 1.3KM long, and cost £30 million. It was built to provide increased capacity over the previosu crossing, the Kingsferry Bridge which can be seen adjacent the new bridge in the picture. The Kingsferry Bridge road and railway vertical-lift bridge which was opened in 1960.
