aerial photograph of Druid’s Circle Birkrigg Common Cumbria England UK. Druid’s Circle is a prehistoric Bronze Age stone circle dating from 1700 BC to 1400 BC. There are 15 to 20 Carboniferous limestone stones in the outer circle and 10 to 12 in the inner circle. The site was excavated in 1911 and evidence of cremated burials was found in the centre. The outer diameter is 24m and the highest stone is 0.9m.
