Above is Webb Aviation Aerial Photography owner /
webmaster / chief aerial photographer / head of accounts / head
of marketing Jonathan Webb and at the in action below at
Headcorn Aerodrome in Kent using the Robinson R44 helicopter of
Thurston Helicopters. The camera is the legendary 5000.00 Canon
1DS mkIII and attached to it is the even more legendary 3000
Canon 300mm f2.8L. Note when shooting in this way with the doors
removed the photographer is strapped to the aircraft and then
each piece of equipment is strapped to the harness separately.
For aerial photography in London we must use a twin engined
aircraft such as the one below provided by Stapleford Flight
Centre in Essex. Jonathan flies almost every week and takes up
to 50,000 aerial photographs a year. Jonathan is one of only a
handful of aerial photographers in the UK who is equipped and
experienced in night aerial photography. Jonathan's aerial photographs have featured
in most major newspapers including the Telegraph, The
Independent, The Guardian, The Sun, The Scotsman, The Daily
Mail, The Liverpool Echo and have also been published by the
Royal Photographic Society, The Royal Geographic Society,
the Royal Society for Arts , the BBC, and ITV . There
have been articles about Webb Aviation Aerial
Photography in the Professional Photographer magazine
, The Royal Photographic Society Heritage Magazine, Bild
Zeitung, Local life magazine and the Staffordshire Country
Magazine as well as various newspaper and radio interviews.

Jonathan Webb founded Webb Aviation
Aerial Photography in March 1991 shortly after completing a
Business Studies degree at Manchester Metropolitan
University. Since then the business has grown from strength
to strength and in May 2008 Jonathan Webb was awarded the
distinction of Associate of the Royal Photographic Society
for his aerial photography. Jonathan is also a member
of Editorial
Photographers UK ( EPUK ) and Freelens.
Jonathan has published a dozen books on aerial photography
and today webbaviation.co.uk is one of the most visited
aerial photography websites in the UK with more than 5
million visitors a year, that's as many visitors as
Edinburgh Castle ! Aerial photography can be
challenging when working half inside and half outside the
aircraft. It can involve pulling G in winds over 100mph ,
significant turbulence and temperatures well below freezing.
Jonathan has published a dozen books on
aerial photography and is shown below at a book launch.
