St Pancras station is today known as St Pancras International due to its connection to the the Channel Tunnel Rail Link. Grade I listed St Pancras Station was opened in 1868 and designed by William Henry Barlow. When completed it had the largest single span roof in the world. The station was given an £800 million refurbishment , completed in 2007 which resulted in the huge new 200m long platform Canopy shown in the photo which was needed to accommodate Eurostar trains which are twice as long as the trains the 19th century station buildings were designed for.
