aerial photograph of the North Bank of the River Thames along Lower Thames Street in London showing ( from left to right ) St Magnus the Martyr Church ( tower ) Grants Quay Wharf, Dark House Walk, Old Billingsgate Market and Walk, Customs House , Landmark Place, Sugar Quay Walk and Tower Place. this was also the site of the Port of London during the Roman Period when warfs and queys lined the northen bank which back then was a bit further back with the water line approximatly where Lower Thames Street is now.
