Llanrhidian Marsh is a salt marsh owned and managed by the National Trust which is known for its wintering wildfowl and waders. It is likely the area has been used for grazing , shellfish and as a source for reeds for thatching since prehistoric times. The area was used for military training during the Second World War with various targets built for bombing and gunnery practice.
