The River Otter stretches 32 km through Devon to the English Channel and is the only river in England which supports a breeding population of beavers. Its not known where the Beavers came from. They were first observed in 2008 and at first the Government wanted to remove them to a zoo but after much local protest they have been allowed to remain in the wild.
