There are 13 decommissioned nuclear subs with 9 of them stored at HMNB Devonport. They are not abandoned however and are maintained with a repaint every 15 years. One of them, HMS Courageous (S50), which served 1971 to 1992, is now preserved as a museum ship and can be seen in the foreground of the photo. Decommissioned Vessels include include HMS Torbay (S90),HMS Splendid (S106), HMS Spartan (S105), HMS Superb (S109), HMS Trafalgar (S107), HMS Turbulent (S87), HMS Tireless (S88), HMS Sovereign (S108), HMS Sceptre (S104), HMS Conqueror (S48), HMS Warspite (S103) ( top right of photo with coning tower removed ) , HMS Courageous (S50) and HMS Valiant (S102)
