aerial photograph of Bath Spa Hotel Somerset England UK.The Grade II listed Bath Spa Hotel was original built in 1835 as a house for General Augustus Andrews. The building was named Vellore and is thought to have been designed by John Pinch the Younger.In 1878 the building was sold and became a school, the Bath College which lasted until 1909 and then in 1912 the building became the Bath Hydropathic Company hotel. In 1939 the war department requisitioned the building and used it as home for Haille Selassie, the exciled Emperor of Abyssinia. Post war, after a short stint again as a hotel it was used as a nurses home but in more recent years it has returned to Hotel use and belongs to Macdonald Hotels
