Grade I listed Henley Bridge was built in 1781 to a design by William Hayward and replaced a previous medieval bridge dating from the 12th century. The bridge incorporates carved keystones of the heads of Thamesis who faces downstream and Isis who faces upstream, by the sculptor Anne Seymour Damer (1748-1828). The 18th Century bridge incorporates some parts of the original 12th century structure.
