aerial photograph of Great Budworth Cheshire England UK. The name Budworth is derived from Old Saxon and is a combination of Bode as in abode , or dwelling place and wurth which is a place with water. The village is recorded in the Doomsday book of 1086 which also mentiones a Priest living in the village, indicating that a church was present inn 1086. The current church inn the centre left of the photo dates from the 14th century with 15th and 16th century additons. No doubt it was constructed on the foundations of the earlier building.
