Grade II listed Abney Hall was built in 1847 and was originally a private house although it was later used as Cheadle Town Hall from 1959. It was once owned by the nephew of Agatha Christie who visited often and wrote a couple of her stories while staying here. Today the hall is used as offices although the surrounding parkland is open to the public.
