aerial photograph of Arpley railway box girder Bridge Warrington Cheshire UK. Arpley Bridge was built in 1854 for the Warrington & Stockport Railway who also built the a station, Arpley Station adjacent the bridge. The railway was absorbed by the London and North Western Railway (LNWR) which in turn became British Railways who closed the station in 1958 and has since been demolished but Arpley Bridge remains intact and as can be seen by the men in orange in the photo , the bridge is still maintained although the line further up is closed to to the unsafe condition of the Latchford Viaduct which was closed to traffic in 1985.
