aerial photograph of Llangollen Bridge Wales. There has been a bridge over the River Dee at Llangollen since the 12th century. The current bridge was built in the 16th century with extensions to accommodate the railway and extra traffic in the 19th century. The structure is Grade I listed and a Scheduled ancient monument. Folklore also lists the bridge as one of the "Seven wonders of Wales".
